Cycling from Chennai to Delhi (2200 KM) - Got a flat tire at Andhra on the night of IPL Final SRH vs CSK

It was the night of the IPL 2018 finals were my favorite team Chennai Super Kings facing Sun risers Hyderabad at the Wankhede. A great comeback performance of the Yellow Army throughout the tournament and I am on the road trying to make a comeback in my life. Didn't expect the unexpected but didn't fade out when it occurred, something in myself told that it is for the good actually. Eventually, the flat tire experience gave me one of the best evenings I could ever ask for.

Lessons from Law of Nature:

I never had the courage to let anyone know that I am on a 2200 KM ride until I crossed a 100 KM the first day. Law of nature had been very kind to me, it didn't make me wait long to face such incidents. Day 1 at Gummudipoondi (Tamilnadu), it suggested me places to stay and possible to try the same for the upcoming nights. Day 2 at Guduru (Andhrapradesh), it got me a flat tire and I could expect it not far away.

Day 2 from Sullurpeta:

Since it was the day of the IPL 2018 Finals, I decided that I will get to the next stop Guduru and try to get a glimpse of the match in some random shop on the road. I am slightly tired as I rode 100 KM in a single day for the first time ever without any long breaks. The previous highest was just 50 KM ride to Vandalur from Ramapuram with Sathish Balakrishnan, it was the only longest ride I ever had before this epic attempt towards Delhi.

Accompanied by Friend to a Safe House

Even though I started my ride early on that day, my timely friend The Sun came along soon enough to accompany me. Hiding from him under my cowboy hat and pedaling didn't help very well as he was too hot that day. Googled for places to take a shed under, found Vasamma Ashram on the map and rushed towards it. From far away, got a glimpse of lord Hanuman standing statue and told myself that I can get under him. It's in the same place as Vasamma Ashram where a local school student and young Archaka (Hindu priest) eyeing glued on me as I got near the temple.

It's Dark Already, Searching for a Place to Stay:

Due to the hot sun, all day started late in the afternoon towards Guduru having done with Lunch at the Ashram itself. It got dark, had dinner at a hotel at Guduru charging, and researching where I could stay for the night. Located Abhayanjaneya Temple at google map, seemed big enough of a place where I thought some people would be available.

Few meters to the temple got a flat tire in that dark evening. No idea whether it was a glass piece or an iron nail as I couldn't see anything under the nightly sky. Lord Hanuman gave me the needed power to pull the bicycle towards his temple, but he didn't let me stay there as the temple gates were locked in a perfect manner and no one to be seen there.

Somehow had a positive vibe and told me this is happening for good. It does turn out well as I got closer to local people standing on the roadside near a restaurant. Irrespective of my body is tired, my mind is super fresh as I was checking the IPL finals score then and there. It was a bunch of youngsters standing close to a Pan Beeda shop, chatting and laughing around. Approached them and asked for a suggestion to solve my situation in the evening.
