What are your common myths about traveling to Africa?

What is it that comes to your mind when you hear or read the word "Africa"?. Well, your answer to that could be one of those common myths you are going to see in this post. Africa is really not what they have shown in the media, and the movies but the reality are pleasant and unharmful.

Thanks to social media platforms and because of them we are playing to get to know the real glimpse of most things in the world. One such thing is how we perceive Africa. Because of the Internet, now we can understand that Africa is not just barren ground that extends to the whole continent. Similarly, there are many myths that surround Africa. Here we bring a few of them to you.

Myth 1: Africa is just a desert

If you ask whether there is a desert in Africa? then yes there is one which is the largest one on earth as well. It is the Sahara desert. To continue that, Africa is also home to the highest free-standing mountain in the world (Kilimanjaro). If you are an Indian, then you would read about this mountain in your school curriculum. So, Africa is not completely a desert but a place where lots of beautiful natural landscapes are also present.

Myth 2: Africa is a forest and animals roam free

Animals roam free in Africa but that doesn't mean everywhere in the continent. There is a place named Masaai Mara and it is a huge forest where you can see animals roam free and you can go for a Safari to get a closer look at them. But, Africa is a place where you can witness many diverse things with 54 countries and thousands of cultures, and an estimated 2000 languages are spoken there.

Myth 3: Africa is dangerous

In one of my previous blogs, I have stated that humans are living in various places of the planet including Antarctica as well. Wherever there are humans living as a society then they will good and opposite people. Africa is not a place where you will come across scammers, and smugglers but you can beautiful and humble people present in most of the places. It is just that their culture is different and their lifestyle is different. Do not hold yourself back to not visit this beautiful place on earth.
